Approach
Astrology is a symbolic art form with an ancient and diverse history. My goal in counseling and teaching astrology is to translate the richness of astrological images and messages in the horoscope into practical guidance with tools to navigate the cycles and journeys in life. I work with an intuitive approach in astrology and I focus on the lessons of the soul's evolving purpose in order create balance in the grand scheme of life.
Background
I have a Pisces Sun and Moon sign with Capricorn rising in my birth chart. I began my study of astrology (in this lifetime) in 1984, and studied with NCGR teachers in New York City and Connecticut. After returning home to North Carolina, I began astrological counseling and teaching in the early 1990's. Astrological writing has also been a key part of my work. I have been published since 1994 with a column in "The Pleiadian Times" -an international quarterly journal from author and channel Barbara Marciniak. Currently, I serve on the board of directors as co-vice president of the Network of Triangle Astologers, a local chapter of the National Council for Geocosmic Research.
Services
I offer a wide variety of astrological services which can be combined together or focused upon separately in a 1 ½ to 2 hr recorded session in person or by phone. Services include:
Natal Chart readings: This is an in depth look at the overall lessons and astrological themes at work throughout the lifetime with emphasis on the resolution of recurring karmic patterns.
Transits and Progressions: These readings are tools which offer the opportunity to help the individual understand and work with the current cycles occurring now and in the years ahead.
Relationship readings: These sessions are for engaging the dynamics between two or more birth charts using astrological tools such as synastry and composite charts for couples,
family, friends or professional relationships.
Locational Astrology: These readings focus on the personal astrological influences for different locations around the planet using computer generated maps to help navigate your life's journeys or your next move! ( these appointments are shorter in duration if focused on separately from a natal, current events or relationship reading )

Reflexology is the practice of applying pressure, through touch, to specific points on the feet, hands and ears, increasing energy flow to all systems and organs of the body. This energy, our life force, travels along the body's meridians or pathways. The feet are the primary area of concentration, containing over 7,000 nerve receptors and reflecting a map of the entire body. Benefits include:

* improved circulation and delivery of oxygen and nutrients to cell
* assistance with lymph fluid drainage

Sharri also utilizes Reiki energy and gentle acupressure during a session, believing each person will receive exactly what they need for wholeness.

60 minutes: $60 (includes essential oil/mineral salt foot soak)
Also being offered by Sharri is Aqua-Detox Ion Foot Cleanse. This revolutionary treatment stimulates the body to release toxins, including stored cellular debris, through the 4,000 pores on the feet. The feet are immersed in water containing an electro-magnetic device which produces a balance of positive and negative ion charges in the water. This stimulates cells to release toxins and re-balance the body's energy field. Such substances that can release are yeast, organ toxins (liver, kidneys, spleen, etc.), metals, etc. Sessions are 30 minutes each. The body will continue to detoxify for up to 48 hours.

Sharri Gaines is certified in Integrative Reflexology, is a Yoga Teacher and Reiki practitioner. She is a graduate of Claire Marie Miller's Integrative Reflexology program, the Asheville Yoga Center and is registered with Yoga Alliance, the national organization of Yoga teachers. She has studied Acupressure and Acu-Yoga, and offers specialized workshops including Yoga for the Office, Acupressure for Self-Healing, Chakra Yoga and Medicine Wheel Yoga.

Her healing practice reflects her lifelong interest in honoring the integrative relationship of mind/body/spirit in creating optimum health and well-being.
